Third times the charm.
Geoff first met Mariah at Office trivia. Mariah was a friend of a friend (Ryan Helgeson) of a friend (Cliff Gregory). Their team won, almost. Until a few months ago, Mariah’s contact info in Geoff’s phone read “Mariah Hot Girl Trivia”.
They met for the second time on the “Babeliner” watching fireworks on the 4th of July. For the uninitiated, the “Babeliner” is an early 2000’s Bayliner Geoff and his friend Joel Sanders bought in 2017. It also came with a baked-in “Too Much Fun” decal at no additional cost.
They met for the third time at a street fair in the Nations.
Something about fall weather mixed with oversized Oktoberfest beers finally ignited something that hadn’t ignited before. They immediately bonded over the fact that Nickelback is not a bad band (Mariah says good; Geoff says “not a bad band”).
Since that night, October 20, 2018, Geoff and Mariah have
been inseparable.
P.S. If there are any Nickelback songs played at our
wedding, that’s fine (maybe even essential)… as long as it’s not “Photograph”
